Assignment #7 English song

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted.
There was no ransom to be paid,
No song unsung, no wine untasted.

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame.

He slept a summer by my side,
He filled my days with endless wonder.
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came.

And still I dreamed he'd come to me,
That we would live the years together
But there are dreams that can not be
And there are storms we can not weather.

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living,
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

My comment:

I know this song through "Les Misérables".  I watched the video of  "Les Misérables" when I studied in junior high school.  I was very impressed by outline of the opera and the acting of performers.  The song depicts that girl recalled the memory of her family before her husband abandoned her and her child.  The song makes people feel sad.  I think that the performance of singer is very well because it makes people experience the strong disappointed which is from the protagonist.

The two lines:

When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die

I try to find some positive words from lyrics of the song.  I think that believe and insist something is very important.  And something is not a religion, I mean that is your dream or a sentence which you have listened or glimpsed.  From now on, no matter what you face, try to insist your target, and trust that you will find the solution.  Then, I think that you will be better than the past.

Assignment #6 Steve Jobs' Talk

I heard three stories including connecting the dots, love and loss and death from the talk of Steve Job's.  I admire that he chose to drop out in the college bravely.  I learn a thing is that love what you do.  I think that love what you do is very important because you will not be happy, if you are successful on which you don;t like.  So, I suggest that people should try to find what you like to do in you own life bravely.

The first story "connecting the dots" influenced me deeply.  I try to improve my English and find that isn't a easy thing.  If I want to keep the level of English, I should study English every day.  Next, I think that I can't get the balance of distributing time.  And I attempt to distribute the time well.  I will encourage myself through imaging myself in the future.  I eager to travel aboard and make friends from other countries.  So, I will insist to improve my English.

Assignment #5 How do I like ESL Randall's Cyber Listening Lab as a language learning resource?

I like this language learning resource very much due to following some reasons. I find these listening passages including different accents from foreigners, various situations and providing three levels.

First, I think that it can  help me to understand the listening passages whether the speaker has accent or not. Initially, I have the problem in accent, I think that I will overcome the difficulties gradually.  Second, these listening passages are formed in a variety of situations including campus, stores and professional terms.  It will be helpful to students to adapt any situations.  Third, the listening passages are classified with three different levels.  In this way, learners can choose the level properly to practice their listening skills.  They will not be frustrated when they choose the high level, on the contrary, they will motive themselves to learn positively.

Actually, I know this language learning resource before, and I gave up when I listened twice because I feel frustrated and don't want to strength listening skills at that time.  Now, I think that learning English is very important and not difficult, just try and face it.
